‘Rain’ is from a collection of poems I wrote in 1994/95, inspired by Julia a girl that I once knew.
— ‘Rain’ komt uit een verzameling gedichten die ik in 1994/95 schreef, geinspireed door Julia, een meisje dat ik ooit kende.
It’s only been a few days, since last I saw you, I lay awake, restless in my sleep, I hear the rain as it crashes against my window, I see the city lights, blurred by the pouring rain, and each time it rains, it brings back memories of being with you, there’s been so many times, in these last few days, when I wanted to see you, and it gets harder with each day, to be away from you, I want to talk with you, and find out how you are, to hold you, and to tell you just how much I miss you, I am sad while I am away from you, and I tell myself it won’t be long, there’s nothing more that I want, than to be with you, now I understand the way I feel, and I realise just how much you mean to me, I want to give to you, my time, while I wait for you, and all my love forever after,
